Area of European part of the city - the district of Beyoglu mainly the area around the Boulevard of Istiklal Caddesi (Independance Avenue - formelly known also as Grande Rue de Pera) has always been the center of the most luxurorious shops, restaurants, several great embassies and churches. After Turkey gained independence most of them were closed and the whole district started to be on the decline.

With new century this has changed as the whole area got new impulse and is becoming one of the new hearts of the city - the true downtown full of luxury shops, great bars and restaurants. The whole district was reconstructed and changed into one large pedestrian zone with tourist friendly signs and orientation which turned the place into a very safe and beautiful place where to spend your time on your visit.
